Academics and Technology:
Adventures in Spanish Culture -- Students will explore Foods, Shopping, Holidays, and Music & Arts from various Spanish countries. Trips to local restaurants, museums, and shops will be included. Each day a different “Adventure” will take place. You don’t have to know any Spanish to take this trip (but you will pick up some as you come along)! Keyboarding & Movie Making -- Typing skills using the standard qwerty keyboard are practiced with drills that help students develop muscle memory for each letter of the alphabet and basic punctuation. The goal of this class is for students to be able to type with all ten fingers and to improve their accuracy and speed.

Robotics Camp provides opportunities for students to BUILD working robots using LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits. Students will PROGRAM the robots to perform simple tasks, and TROUBLESHOOT and problem solve as they tweak and fix. Students will learn important thinking and life skills as they learn to work and "play" together. This camp may be repeated multiple times, at different ability levels. Cheer Camp - LHN cheerleaders will teach campers jumps, chants, cheers, dances, and appropriate stunts. They will work with 3rd - 5th grade in the morning and 6th – 9th grade in the afternoon. On the last day of camp, parents are welcome to come at 10:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. to see a showcase of what was learned during the week. Football camp will work on fundamentals, position specific drills, weight room training, conditioning, film study, chalk talk, nutrition, and more. All athletes, regardless of playing experience, will benefit greatly. Athletes need to have cleats, running shoes, and a change of clothes every day.
