Academics Overview

LHN provides a superior academic experience integrated with a consistent, Christian approach to learning and meaningful ministry.

At LHN we strive to assist students in preparing for their future. A rigorous academic curriculum within a strong spiritual community is the foundation of our philosophy. Through daily prayer, religious instruction and contact with Christian teachers, students are provided with opportunities to grow closer to Jesus Christ while preparing for their post-graduation endeavors.

The academic expectations of Lutheran High North can be seen in its college preparatory curriculum. LHN’s student body comes from a broad range of academic backgrounds. Students are challenged in their studies and expected to work toward performance at a high level.

graduation requirements

While there are many choices at Lutheran High North that allow for a well-rounded education, we encourage students to challenge themselves according to their own abilities in order to better provide for success in their future endeavors.

Most of the academic courses students take at Lutheran High North are determined by state requirements. Our curriculum guide outlines the various plans for graduation. Students are given a choice for required electives according to their interests and passions for music, art, athletics, science, technology and more.

Students can earn college credits through dual credit courses

Dual credit courses are available to juniors and seniors who meet requirements to take college courses while in high school. Students who successfully complete dual credit courses receive three college credit hours directly from Concordia University Nebraska or Concordia University Wisconsin, as well as credit for the high school course. The college credits also transfer to other colleges and universities. A total of 18 college credits can be earned through dual credit courses.

Online Learning

In addition to the traditional on-campus classroom experience, LHN students have the opportunity to enroll in our online learning program, LEAH Schools Online.  LEAH Schools has partnered with Orange Lutheran High School in Orange County, CA to provide an online learning experience for students who may be looking for a blended learning experience, part-time on campus and part-time online, or a full-time online high school experience.  Summer classes are also available online.

"At LHN, I have become a confident and faithful young woman. Many leadership opportunities have helped me build my confidence, and I have learned how to be a leader both inside and outside LHN’s doors.
