B.A. Elementary Education 1982 - Concordia Lutheran College
Diane Kemnitz graduated from Concordia Lutheran College (University) in 1982 with a BA in Elementary Education, a major in English, a minor in Religion, and a specialization in youth ministry. Her first Call was to Lutheran High North, where she taught English II and IV and directed the Fall and Winter plays and the Spring Musical. She met her dear, sweet husband, Detlef, at LHN also. She remained here until 1991 when her first son was born.
She then taught part-time at Pilgrim Lutheran School in Houston. She taught 4th-8th grade Art and worked with the Early Childhood department. During this time she had her second son and at the conclusion of the fifth year was able to stay home with her children. Mrs. Kemnitz did this for three years. She then began substitute teaching and teaching 5th-8th grade Art part-time at Our Savour Lutheran School in Houston.
She did this until her return to Lutheran High North in 2007. Currently, she teaches 10th grade regular and Honors English, and 9th grade Honors English. She also directed this year's Fall comedy, The Foreigner.
I love crafting, bird watching, music and stage productions, and fortunately, watching a plethora of sports! One of my favorite Bible verses is Philipians 4:13--"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I am blessed to be a wife, mother of two very fine boys, and servant of the Lord. :)
